Goals

{GOALS}

Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority Incorporated prides itself on three goals: Academic Excellence, Unity Amongst All Women, and To Be Active in the University & Community.

Academic Excellence

Our drive for academic excellence is something very important to us. We strive to foster academic excellence in our sisters and our surrounding universities and communities.

Our chapter offers a number of academic and educational programs such as study groups and workshops on academic management. We do require all our sisters to maintain a reasonable grade point average to ensure academic excellence and to work towards the ultimate goal of graduating with a bachelor’s degree from their college or university.

In addition, the Dhyani Chapter had the THIRD highest cumulative GPA out of ALL greek organizations and the HIGHEST cumulative GPA out of the seven organizations in their council for the Spring 2014 semester. This was a huge accomplishment for the ladies of the Dhyani Chapter.

Unity Amongst All Women

MSU sisters come from almost every cultural background, cultural mix, and walk of life that you can imagine.

What distinguishes MSU as a multicultural organization is our commitment to multicultural programming. Our unique programs like R.A.C.E. highlight and celebrate the beauty and splendor of all the different nations and cultures of the world.

We also recognize that culture is not just about country borders; culture is about language, symbols, technology, institutions and beliefs. We strongly believe in highlighting these cultures as well in our programming.

To be Active in the University and Community

MSU provides services through formal or informal partnerships with local nonprofit and community-based organizations, to help improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve particular problems related to community needs.

Some areas that our sisters have  made efforts in include health care, literacy training, housing/neighborhood improvement, public safety, crime prevention and control, students with disabilities, and many more.

Through programs, workshops, and philanthropy efforts Mu Sigma Upsilon hopes to participate in the progress of our communities and universities.
